Juicy, sweet-tart citrus — fresh-squeezed brightness with sugar behind it.

Orange balances the citrus equation: genuine acidity, but with enough fruit sugar behind it that the cup tastes juicy rather than sharp — much like fresh-squeezed juice. Washed lots from Ethiopia and Kenya show it often, along with other high-grown coffees where citric brightness is abundant. It's arguably the most sociable of the citrus notes: vivid enough to interest the enthusiast, sweet enough not to startle anyone else.
