House Of Nuts, House Espresso

Roaster notes

Farm Mexico El Zapoteco Cooperative Region Sierra Juarez, Oaxaca Variety Typica, Mundo Novo, Bourbon Altitude 1300 - 1700 masl Flavour Nuts, Chocolate, Citrus Importer Raw Material We're making a big change with our house espresso this year and moving to a single origin coffee rather than a blend. The reason is simple, changing to a single origin means buying more coffee from one group of growers, creating more impact for them in the way we know best. This coffee is from the El Zapoteco Cooperaive in Sierra Juarez. Facilitated once more by our friends from Raw Material and Thomas from Red Beetle lab, the cooperative serves the 3 villages in the Sierra Juarez in Oaxaca. It's a true community lot! The farming families don't hire seasonal workers for the harvest (something that not only costs money, but is currently an issue worldwide, with many farmers unable to find the amount of seasonal workers they need for the harvest season), instead the entire community clubs together and helps to pick cherries with their neighbours when they're ripe and ready to go. They do all of this in exchange for lunch, bringing everyone around a table together for the most important of rituals! It's a beautifully nutty and smooth coffee with hints of baking spice and a touch of citrus (we taste orange and lemon). Although it is primarily meant for espresso, it is also a beautifully smooth filter coffee too. Get it while its hot!
