This Tanzanian coffee hails from Acacia Hills on Mount Oldeani in the Ngorongoro region, where Leon—a third-generation Greek-Tanzanian coffee farmer—partnered with Portland Coffee Roasters founder Mark Stell to establish a high-altitude plantation in 2007. Seeking terrain capable of producing specialty-grade beans beyond his family's lower-altitude holdings near Arusha, Leon discovered that the elevated slopes of Mount Oldeani offered the ideal conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee.
