Process Natural Flavour Apricot, Raspberry, Chocolate Importer Omwani This is Wako Jegso's first ever export as a solo producer, after years of selling his coffee cherry to local coops and washing stations for much less money. Meeting him and his family in January 2025, walking through his farm and drinking coffee with Grandma Jegso at their processing site and home, it was clear this was something special. The cup we drank, roasted and brewed in the traditional Ethiopian way, was the best coffee we drank of any of the farms we visited! Back in Munich, roasted and cupped, this coffee wasn't just a special memory from a magical day. It truly is as brilliant as remembered from that day. It has a deep chocolate finish, ripe raspberry and dried apricot, with a sweetness that coats the tongue and stays there for ages! We love Wako! A huge thanks goes out to Omwani, who import these amazing coffees, for inviting me out to Ethiopia after a 5 minute chat at WoC 2024 and a few texts!!! It was a trip of a lifetime and fantastic to meet the legendary Moata Raya of Mecota Trading (Omwani's export partner in Ethiopia), who is more knowledgeable, calm and kind than anybody I have ever met! The work he is doing to support smallholder farmers branch out on their own and produce their own coffee to extremely high quality coffees is an inspiration!
