Hacienda la Esmeralda, operated by the Peterson family, is world-renowned for revealing the exceptional potential of Geisha coffee and has become an indispensable reference in specialty coffee. In 2004, this Panamanian farm presented its first 100% Geisha at the Best of Panama competition, dazzling judges with floral aromas and brightness reminiscent of Ethiopian coffees, establishing a record auction price. The farm continues to excel, winning three main categories at the 2025 Best of Panama with historic scores including an unprecedented 98.00 points in washed Geisha.
