Award-winning specialty coffee from Tamiru, a former university teacher and electrical engineer who founded Alo Coffee with his wife Messi after Ethiopia's first Cup of Excellence in 2020. Their very first entry—a carefully prepared lot from their home village of Alo in Bensa—won the Cup of Excellence Ethiopia in 2021, proving that Sidama coffees can compete with the world's best. Driven by passion and rigor rather than tradition alone, Alo Coffee continues to showcase the untapped potential of Ethiopian coffee while honoring the producers who make it possible.
