El Sendero
Roaster notes
Nestled in the Sierra mountains dividing Guatemala's El Quiche and Huehuetenango states, Cooperativa El Sendero farms sit at 1800-2000 meters elevation. This is not a traditional coffee-growing region; the cooler climate has historically favored corn and potato cultivation. Only in the last decade has warming allowed these farmers—many with experience picking at lower-altitude estates—to establish their own highland coffee plots.
