This traceable single estate coffee comes from Finca La Laja near Huatusco in Veracruz, Mexico, where the Sampieri family has produced coffee for three generations on approximately 500 hectares at 1,100 meters altitude. Using water from the glaciers of Mexico's highest mountain, a Mountain Water Process removes caffeine while allowing green beans to maintain their flavor through filtered reuse. The cup delivers spicy, chocolate, sweet and lemon flavors with bright acidity and a clean aftertaste.
